Week 26

Ooooiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!

Hows everyone doing today?!?! Im doing fantanstic. Loving life here in la ceiba!!! we had an incredibly fast week here.

Story number 1; PERDOMO CAME AND SPENT THE NIGHT WITH US!!!!!!! It was so much fun. We went and visited his favorite investigators and recent converts one night. It was a blast to see people come out, more or less unexcited to see us and then have perdomo jump out and watch their face change! haha It was great to be with him. And everyone we would go to who hadnt been baptized yet he would challenge them on the spot to be baptized haha so it was great. We had a multizone conference the day after. It was awesome. When my mission president speaks spanish hes very joyous and bubbly. But when he speaks english even the latinos are struck with fear! He speaks like an apostole! Its pretty great. Theres photos of perdomo ruelas and I in my next email.

This week was all focused on getting ready for this saturdayOn saturday, we had a giant barbecue! We put it on for a family whos been trying to get baptized but needs to get married before hand, here the laws for marriage are ridiculous, and so they really had to work to make enough money to be baptized! We call this a "baptism of sweat"!!! It was awesome and you could really feel the spirit as we worked! Its incredible to see as we sacrifice for Gods purposes, he pours out his spirit more abundantly! They are so pumped for their baptism and have worked incredibly hard to get to where they are. Theyve had challenges along the way, they almost gave up at one point, but they overcame everything, and now were almost all the way in the clear!!! Reina, the wife, cooks fantastic so it all went really well. We sold about 55 plates of barbecue! We made 3000 lempiras to help them get married! (1 dollar is 20 lempiras... do the math! haha ) They stayed at the chapel with us at night time to see a baptism that the other elders had, and they were like children in a candy store! They could hardly contain themselves with excitement for their baptism.

So just a little update with our golden investigator Lina. Shes doing great. Went to church yesterday: She almost didnt make it. She came late but better late than never. Shes extremely pumped for her baptism as well! She cracks me up. She calls us to check up on us all the time. Its like were her children haha and Im very proud of Nicolle for sharing the gospel with her family. She really has an incredible goal of having an eternal family and shes not gonna rest until she achieves it!

Well! The mission is awesome! The spirit is so strong with us here! Im 30 pages away from finishing the book of mormon and my testimony of it has grown so much! Every time I read it I love it more and more. I know this is the restored gospel. Without any doubt.

Love always,
Elder Hodson
